A: Myth: washing your face cures acne. Umm. no. Actually washing your face more often can just irritate your skin more. You need to use a mild soap. I only use oil of olay. Most acne is below the skin anyway, it's generally not a surface thing. It has to do with oil glands.. those are under/inside the skin, not on the surface.
Myth: A dermatologist can solve your problems. Actually, my dermatologist didn't help me one bit. (aside from some drugs that actually made it worse) PLUS she doesn't agree that the dairy triggers my acne - she says it's impossible.
IS THERE A CURE?: Yes, and No. Depends on your definition of "cure". It has several. But I'll tell you this. My body reacts to dairy products. My acne is triggered by dairy. If you search on google for "dairy and acne" you will see what I'm talking about. There's also links between seafood (shellfish), iodine and acne. So to me.. my "cure" is to not eat dairy. It works for me like you wouldn't believe.
There's also links between beef and acne. It all stems around pregnant cows., hormones and enzymes that trigger the oil glands in our bodies.
I've had acne since I was about 13. Mostly cystic. (zits the size of quarters, silver dollars, had one once the size of a baseball on my back - tell you - boy was that fun NOT! - under the knife, three drain tubes sewn in, lots of purging and two weeks later, I was finally back to normal, but with a huge scar on my back to remember it by.)
I know acne. Trust me. Diet can play a HUGE role for probably 80% of the people out there. Holding my hands near my face.. phone near my face.. irritating my skin.. that causes little zits. Just like scrubbing or washing too much can cause zits for me.
Email me if you feel like you've tried everything and want some other ideas.
Proactive isn't a cure all. Tetrocycline isn't a cure all. And neither is Accutane. Doctors know some things, but they don't know your body like you know it.
The drug companies will never sell a cure all product. They want you to continue buying their products. Same with dermatologists. They gotta stay in business. It's all about money I tell ya. Nuts.
IT'S TOUGH: I know it's tough. Kids make fun of you., adults, even teachers made fun of me. You simply have to look in the mirror and say to yourself that it only makes you stronger and makes you realize what friends are your true friends. It's tough. Lots of tears. Lots of sadness.. depression. It's sucky the way that society makes us feel guilty for something we cannot prevent.
Q: How can I cure acne? Which is the best cleanser out there?
I am a 13 year old that suffers from acne. Does anyone know how to prevent it? Cure it? Which is the best facial cleanser out there?
A: he products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser and warming facial scrub every morning. And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
Q: I have acne on my face and back. How can I cure acne easily without spending much money?
I have acne on my face and back. How can I cure acne easily without spending much money?
A: Keep hair off of your face if at all possible. If you want to keep your bangs, then consider taking showers regularly or keeping your forehead clean with oil-dabbing cloths / clean tissues / etc.
Get good sleep. Stress increases your skin's oiliness, which, combined with sweat and dirt, can clog pores and cause pimples. (Change your pillowcase frequently.)
Acne medications may cause your skin to initially break out worse than before because all FDA-approved acne medications (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur) are causing your skin to regenerate faster. This brings existing acne pimples already under your skin (but not visible yet) to the surface, which in turn causes a massive but fortunately temporary break out. Give the medications time to work -- about one to two weeks -- and you will notice a big difference in the quality of your skin.
See a dermatologist if over the counter remedies does not work. They specialize in skin care and can prescribe you medicines that help you improve it.
Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently.
Bye...

Q: People Who Live Green: How Can I Cure Acne While Wet and Naked?
I've got an acne problem and I am looking for bodywashes/soaps that will cure acne. Are there any good natural (no animals or animal testing, no petroleum, drugs or harsh chemicals) soaps or bodywashes that would take care of this problem?
BTW, Eucalyptus could kill me and I'd prefer not smelling like flowers.
A: This easy, effective method uses one kitchen-cupboard herbal ingredient, and calls upon the power of a warm compress to open pores and allow the healing benefits of the herb to work on blemished skin. The compress method is more comforting and quicker to use than a facial steam, but is every bit as effective. For directions on how to do this. Check out this article. The web site also has other herbal remedies.

Q: Do you think a dermatologist can cure my acne?
I have tried all the supermarket products and the seem to work for a small amount of time but then the acne just starts coming back, maybe my skin become immune to it, same story with Proactiv it worked for a wee while but now we are back at square one. Can a dermatologist really cure acne or is that just wishful thinking, and what sort of things can they prescribe?
A: HI Jake
Take your chances on the dermatologist, but here are some facts.
Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood and removing excess waste from the body.
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems."
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin."
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.
Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.
Natural Cures
1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot & spinach, celery & watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.
2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.
3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.
4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.
5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.
Best of health to you

What are the simple steps to cure acne? Let me know how to get rid of acne in very short time and effectively.
A: Acne is one of the most common diseases in the world. It commonly occurs in adolescence though it affects all age groups. Acne mainly affects the face, upper arms, back, chest and neck.
The truth is there are no overnight cures for acne. But results of treatment are noticeable anyplace in 1week. comedonal, papulopustular, inflammatory and severe acne are the common type of acne. You have to a lot, but useful. There are many products you will find on the market that mostly really don’t work. The use of antibiotics kills bacteria momentarily but does not give permanent cure for acne.
Severe Inflammatory acne can be cured by retinoidal acne lotions. Some dietary supplements like are very popular as they really work effectively. This site will show you the right way to treat your acne: http://tips3.acne7dayscure.info
Q: How do you cure acne?
Is there any actual remedies to cure acne. Many respective names such as Neutrogena and Dove claim to remove acne, but i've noticed it adds more spots to my face. What do i do...
A: I just acne pads for my face, I use them every night. Noxzema is what I use. Either that, if you're looking for a more natural solution, I've used tomato on my face. Seriously, it really does work. You just rub it on your face in a circular direction for about 3 minutes and slowly work your way up to more and more time. The acids in the tomato are great for your skin. That and watch your diet. Be careful not to eat too many greasy foods and such. If it still doesn't clear up, you might want to consider going to see a dermatologist.

Q: Can I start birth control before my period to cure acne?
Okay, so I just got some orthotricycline to cure my mild acne and was wondering if it would be okay to start taking the pill now rather than wait untill I get my period, which will be in a few weeks. I'm not taking the pill to be sexually active. or anything Just to cure my acne. Anyone know if that would be okay to do??
A: I would go with your gynecologist's suggestions for when to start the pill. Just be patient, because it will take a few weeks before you see how your skin reacts to it, anyway. I'm on the same pill that you mentioned, and it does positively affect my skin -- I have mild acne, too.
Q: Will it be effective if I use Natures Cure acne tablets and cream with the antiacne papaya system?
will it be effective if I use the "natures cure" tablet and cream WITH the "natures cure" three step anti-acne papaya cleansing system? What would happen if I would use those all together, will if be effective?
A: Over sixty million Americans today have the skin condition known as acne. Acne is a non-contagious skin and inflammatory disease that affects the pores covering the face, chest, arms and back along with the oil glands attached to them. Too much oil, known as sebum, is produced by the sebaceous gland and causes a course and greasy complexion. When the pores holding our hairs get blocked by oil and dead skin cells, eruptions called acne pimples are formed.
An effective ingredient in skin care is papaya (Carica papaya, also known as powpow) because it exfoliates damaged and dead skin cells. Exfoliating the skin removes the cells that cause clogged pores that can result in skin eruptions. The fruit, seeds, skin and leaves of the papaya are all rich in essential enzymes that give this fruit outstanding topical medicinal properties for the treatment of skin conditions. Studies done in the West Indian Medical Journal confirm the healing abilities of papaya and its capability to rejuvenate and repair the skin.
Different parts of the fruit contain various essential enzymes that act similarly to restorative and preventative medicines. The leaves of the papaya contain alkalide capain, the seeds have cericin and the fruit itself has a protein dissolving enzyme called papain.
The most research has been done about the enzyme papain, which has been proven to whiten and soften the skin, and has been effectively used to heal wounds and insect stings. The juice of raw papaya has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of swollen acne pimples and prevents pus formation. Papain has also been shown to be helpful in removing brown spots due to sun exposure, lowering inflammation, alleviating edemas and even improving healing from burns. Further, because papain enzymes are quite effective in dissolving fats to purge the skin and make it feel softer, they are a viable ingredient in many beauty products today. Removing lipids from the surface of the skin prevents clogged pores and the subsequent development of pimples.
Papaya is not just a tasty tropical fruit. The leaves, seeds, skin and fruit the papaya contain essential enzymes that can restore and rejuvenate the skin naturally so that you look and feel great..
Q: How do I cure acne on chest and back?
I have red acne spots on my chest and back. What are some ways of curing it?
A: I've actually been using phisoderm on my back and chest for a couple of weeks and it's completely cleared up.
Attached is a link to the product I've been using.
It's actually meant for your face, but I found that the prescription face wash I had worked better and decided to experiment a bit with this.
I think they make a body wash to, which is probably more appropriate. Just make sure it has salicyclic acid as the active ingredient. That's what makes it work.
If the problem persists, see a dermatologist. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. And almost all of the medications I've taken have been covered under my insurance.
