Q: What dry food is best for my picky dog?
Hello... Okay, first, this may seem INCREDIBLY long, but most of this question is a description that I got online of different dog foods. I have some question-type things. Okay, so my almost 2 year old Cosheltie (collie-sheltie mix) has some weird problems, where, he, first, finds it dificult to chew adult dog kibble, hence, not eating dry food plain unless given as a treat. The only exception to that is our puppy's puppy food, which he is fine eating(?)... I think that he needs smaller kibbles, but I don't want to give him puppy food, so I decided on maybe trying a small breed formula adult food. Right now, he weighs 40ish pounds and is 20 inches tall. His second problem is that he gets indigestion and loose stools almost once a week. I think that COULD be because we give him a majority wet food, but I'm no veteranarian... Okay, anyway, I did some research, and got some good dry foods with, as the companies claim, small kibbles... Here they are, along with a breif description ---> 1. Purina Moist n Meaty Lamb and Rice - Real meat—a wholesome, high-quality source of protein— is the #1 ingredient in every Purina Moist & Meaty flavor. As a main meal, special treat or added to dry food, Moist & Meaty is so complete and satisfying you’ll want to serve it every day. Plus, Moist & Meaty’s convenient easy-open single-serve pouch locks in freshness so every bite is tender and delicious. 2. PEDIGREE SMALL BREED ® Nutrition Mini Crunchy Bites - We’re for the little guys. The toy dogs and the terriers, the comedians and the aristocrats. The lively, lovable characters who fit so easily into our laps — and into our lives. Small breed dogs have big personalities, big hearts, and big egos. But, they have small mouths. Which is why we created this Small Breed Nutrition recipe just for them. Not only does it feature smaller, easier to crunch kibble, it has the great, meaty taste little dogs love. 3. Eukanuba Adult Medium Breed Small Bites Formula - There's something nice about being in the middle; you're not too large, or too small. Medium breed dogs need balanced nutrition. Eukanuba recognizes this and designed Eukanuba Medium Breed Adult Small Bite to provide high-quality, complete & balanced nutrition specially formulated with moderate protein and fat levels to maintain their long-term nutritional health. This food has a smaller kibble than our regular Medium Breed Adult for dogs that prefer a smaller kibble. Eukanuba Medium Breed Adult Small Bite also contains an optimal ratio of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids to help your medium breed dog have healthy skin and a beautiful coat. 4. Purina Kibbles and Mini Chunks Beef Flavor Dry Dog Food - Complete and balanced nutrition doesn't have to be boring- Purina Kibbles and Mini Chunks proves it. The big beefy flavor in every bite keeps your dog coming back for more. Crunchy kibbles are great for your dog's healthy smile. And the moist, chewy chunks tempt your dog with great taste and tender texture. Your dog won't know about the complete and balanced nutrition.Just how great Purina Kibbles and Mini Chunks tastes. 5. Purina Little Bites Dog Food - Whether your dog is big or small, there is no denying the big impact that he has had on your life. Your dog’s nutrition should support his good health—no matter what his size. That’s why Purina® Little Bites Dog Food is made with crunchy, bite-sized kibble packed with great taste and nutrition, for your dog’s long, healthy life. - Also for this, I am finding either Purina Little Bites or Purina Little Bits Indoor Complete, are these two the same? My dog loves the outdoors, but stays inside most of the day Okay, So out of all these foods, which one could my dog like most if he likes Puppy Chow and Beneful for Puppies? Right now, he eats the Beneful Original formula... Ummm... What else should I tell you? I think thats all. Thank you so much for helping me and my dog(Riley)!! You are going to be so much of a help for us! I promise to pick a best answer!

A: I would not feed nay of that crap. They companies say it is good so you will buy it. If you look at the ingredients, you will find that they are mostly made of corn, wheat and by-products. Not things your dog should eat. Try a food made out of meat. There are many that have a named meat (beef, lamb, chicken etc) at least 3 times in the top 5 ingredients. Check out http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com pick a 4-6 star food. Your dog will probably like it better and it will be better for him.

Q: Signs of anti freeze poisoning in a human through well water?
I have had 3 cats to disappear in 9 years and I have an abnormal neighbor that expresses his jealousy toward my elderly parents. We have all been sick and and losing hair some pain in our bodies that the doctors can not explain. I started looking for my cat and went through the would and found a couple of old building that he had said to have been getting cooper out of washer, dryers, refrigerator's, and A/C units; however, I noticed a bottle of anti freeze on a lower self and I was so consumed in find my cat I thought nothing about it but I have continued to look for my cat for the last 2 weeks and noticed that the bottle had been put up on a top shelf and the dryers had been tossed over and around the property. Call it crazy but this guy sits and stares sown at us and I Have been kind to his children and father and girl friend. But I have joint pain that no one has and explanation. I only use very little of our water for coffee and oat meal and cooking . I drink bottle water because I noticed me swelling and indigestion from drinking our well water. So I thought maybe it was just my body being strange. What can I do to find out if this is in our water. and what are the symptom=ms of the toxic fluid in a humans body. My father is in pain and my mother has stomach pain and the doctors have no explanations. She has an appointment to go in soon. Can I have the doctor to check her and tell them of my findings in this old building wit out sounding crazy. this guy is known as a screaming manic toward his kids and threatened to kill his father my cat and the neighbors dog. He is violent most of the time and others he is just cold and then he wants sympathy for his unfortunate financial problems but he got into a fight on the job and he got fired. I feel sorry for these children and his girlfriend and his father that loves him dearly. But the girlfriend has lived a life with a schizophrenic mother and had a horrible child hood and I have tried to be there for these children. To show them there is a different life than what they live in. A loving caring life an adult whom will pay attention to them and listen. So them constructive behavior even though I know they are going to be scared by the existence of a violent situation. I have know him from a young age and he wa know to kill small animals. I maybe going over board but my parents do not allow him on our land because of his past, and I can only respect what there wishes and I do not trust him because of his behavior and the drugs that his mother use when she carried him, she is a criminal and is in jail now and I pity him yet I'm afraid of him and his crazy stories. For instance I went to take the new born some clothes and one of his dogs was jumping on me and playing and I pet him and I'm allergic but I love dogs, he was friendly and he told his girlfriend she had to watch him because he was biting at me which wa untrue. A while back we got accused of poisoning their dogs about 2 years go. We would never hurt an animal. it is not in our nature and we feed his dogs when they had no food and to many to feed .My heart is broken over this cat, but this other just came into my mind to night. Our illness unexplained and all this other It is not adding up everyone else has cats and they live and do not go missing and they do not take care of them. I take mine and have their shots an have them spayed or neutered pay fees and I have only had 3 cats in 9 years it takes me a while to get over them being out of my life. Except for the last one I ended up with her looking for my 8th month old for over 2 months. What test can be done I know if they are not looking for it in our water or bodies it will not be found. But the night I have found people in our woods and hearing them walk around and not seeing because I live in a secluded area and they are the only one that live that close and he is the only one that act mean and strange have had. I caught him across our road on our property which I have posted and he ran and act like it was not him . I do not want a neighbor mes but we deserve to live peaceful and not be harmed by and unstable man in in his 20's. Do i sound nuts? this has been going on for a while an I do not want my parents to die and I'm a mother and soon to be grandmother how do make sure our water is safe and if it is tampered with what do I do? This family is as poor a mine was when they started out with my oldest sister. I'm poor but, I just mange my money and try to help other because I think God blesses those who help others. If I'm wrong I can deal with it. But I want to know what is going on with my loved cats and the expensense is great for a disabled person income but if I own them I take care of them like a child

A: You need to contact you local authorities if you have any suspicion whatsoever of this horrendous or inhumane act. You also need to contact your water company, and the Department of Health and Enviornmental Control (DHEC) so that your water can be checked. Yes, you can request to be checked for any type of poisioning, just explain the circumstances to you physician; for ones physician not to do so would not be ethical. I have also listed the symptoms below, take care, and good luck. Bladder and kidneys: No urine output Blood in urine Lungs: Rapid breathing Stop breathing Skin: Blue lips and fingernails Gastrointestinal: Nausea Vomiting Heart and blood: Rapid heartbeat Low blood pressure Convulsions Nervous system : Headache Stupor (lack of alertness) Unconsciousness Slurred speech Unsteady walk Weakness Fatigue Coma Dizziness Muscles and joints: Leg cramps Eyes, ears, nose, and throat : Blurred vision Blindness

Q: Methylin and stomach upset/gastrointestinal distress?
I am adult ADD and have been taking generic Ritalin for several months as the brand name is not affordable in my insurance plan. I have noticed progressively worse stomach upset/indigestion/heartburn etc on this product and is getting progressively more distressing. What course of action can I take. Simply taking otc heartburn remedies is no longer effective and obviously I cant stop taking my meds. My doctor has said there is no connection between the two, but I'm the one suffering the results. I would appreciate suggestions from the medical community. Thank you.

A: Whoa, Ritalin has its peaks and VALLEYS. Have you considered Concerta? It comes in a time release capsule. There is Strattera - just go to drugs.com. you can get substantial information and arm yourself for your next conversation with your doctor. You can see the side effects, what others are out there, whether they make a generic yet or not. You can make some alternative suggestions to your Doctor. My son takes concerta. If he does not eat breakfast with his meds he will get a migraine headache which often results in Nausea and vomiting as well. Have you tried having a bland breakfast/meal when you take your med? Good Luck to you.

Q: Could this be pancreatitis?
I went out for a night of heavy drinking last thursday knowing that my body is intolerant of alcohol. (REAL smart, I know) Spent the whole day friday in bed vomiting. Feeling crummy but much better on saturday. Sunday rolls around and I'm feeling alright so I cooked some steaks for dinner. Approx. an hour after eating I suddenly developed what felt like some vicious indigestion in my upper abdomen. The pain lasted at least 12 hours straight and worsened when I was in bed. Made it through Monday day without any noticeable pain but woke up about 3 am Tuesday morning with horrible upper abdominal pain. I took some tums both nights which seemed to help, but now today I have a constant discomfort and tenderness. Vibration seems to be an irritant along with pressure and breathing. I am a 25 year old female with suspected auto-immune disorder, 46 known food allergies, TMJ, Interstitial Cystitis, and I'm being treated for Fibromyalgia. And please no lectures about the drinking, I am an adult and perfectly aware that it is bad for me. Had a CTscan done today and it turns out that I have bilateral ovarian cysts. Thanks so much for the info and advice!

A: this absolutely could be an acute attack of pancreatitis. the same thing happened to me, age 24 ( im now 47). there was a small time where, one beer would feel like 4, and then one night, i had your night, and said, i must be 'allergic' to alcohol. so i stopped drinking naturally. ofcourse, tell this to a doc and they think 'alcoholic' but it was a SYMPTOM!!! fast forward and i did have another attack after a vacation with sunshine ( no alcohol) hence an autoimmune link ( lupus) and i had documented elevated labs. the issue is, now im a nurse, and ive learned alot more about this subtle disease. after i was told i had an attack, the IBS diagnosis was thrown at me. at the time, no net, like here, so i was stuck until 2002 when i had an acute necrotising pancreatitis attack, on top of obvious chronic pancreatitis. and i knew it!! so i went to the net to learn what i could, which i suggest you do asap. i now run a webgroup dedicated to the pancreas and its issues, below is the link if you would like to join, if not good luck and keep up your reading. you also need a good gi doc who will know what happened, and also know, that your pancreas enzymes dont have to be elevated for a documented attack. i can tell you why- because the enzymes are used up= eating your pancreas. its not until it goes way above and beyond, where the vessles allow the enzymes to cross over, and then the doctors "see" evidence. ofcourse, we are in horrible pains!! so its one of those illnesses that if you dont get ontop if it, you can become ill for a lifetime, in short order. good luck to you ;) Michele, hope to see you;)

Q: simple foods to live on?
what are simple foods to live and feel great on? like potatos. but i won't eat something i'm unfamiliar with so for thoes things to be sutable enough to put in a blender. and i really need great sources of fibre. branflakes doesn't solidify the passage of food enough, but corn flakes stops painfull air bubbles from forming in my intestines. (Nestea Iced Tea, and red fruits)ice tea causes the air bubbles to form but its not an unhealthy drink. i've been raised by someone who led me to mistrust the food i eat now in my adult life life. a chronic liar as she is, i would catch her coming out of the bathroom without washing her hands and follow her into the kitchen where she began to prepare food. if i didn't follow her she'd lie and say she washed her hands but after following her she says "i don't have germs". this is a psychological shortcoming i'm not looking to overcome but i need foods i can always rely on. i won't vary my diet at all. i have a very good sence of taste so if there is a taste or texture i'm unfamiliar with i gag involuntarily. the limited variety of foods i eat are: 1. baby potatos(without fibre causes diurea) 2. spicy chicken goujons(causes constipation if eaten regularly) 3. high quality chicken (ballyfree) 4. buscuits (McVities Lights) ((causes diurea if eaten alone)) 5. corn flakes 6. milk 7. iced tea(causes indigestion if consumed alone) 8. branflakes(causes irritation of the throat when swallowing) 9. bread role (causes heart burn) 10. homemade chips. (never eaten regularly) 11. bottled water. 12. ham. 13. rashers. All the symtomes stated are a result of at some point eating each item of food far too consistantly. i'm not trying to sound like a hypocondriak, i know i have a problem but at this point in my life i'm not able to change. i've tried to de-rail this pattern of eating but i'd imagine its something like a smoker giving up cigarettes. i've been this way my whole life. getting more and more stubborn as i age of cource. if i get helpfull responce from you guys at yahoo i can definetly try harder. hmm, i think i should outline what i'm looking for. i want simple foods i can cook or blend that i can live healthy on. not just an incomplete diatary requirement recipe for 1 day out of the week etc. vitamin a monday vitamin c tuestay. just the bare essencials to live and feel great on each day. thanks for any helpfull responce ^_^ sorry this was so long >.>

A: I COULD LIVE ON FRUIT. or icecream / peanut butter sandwiches lol

Q: I'm tired of seeing commercials for giving 80 year old men erections when there's no cure for AIDs?
or alot of cancers. Anyone else feel the same? For me its the same with the bladder or indigestion pill commertials... so what if you have to pee 20 times a day or have a tummy ach, theres kids and adults dieing from cancers as common as a cold.

A: Yeah I agree. I've been saying for ages that if we have a bladder control problem, indigestion, AIDS, HIV, herpes, hemoroids, etc. then you have probably went to the doctor for these problems. Once there I'm sure the doctor gave you medicne for this. Why do they feel the need to advertise for this sort of stuff. Like if they didnt advertise tampons no one would use them? Yeah right! They need to get real.

Q: Heart fine when sleeping but when awake (mostly at night) heart pumps harder?

As you can imagine adults are used to this like my mom but for me a 15 yr old who just had it finally happen thanks to genes its scary and I think its swine flu (but if it was respatory id be dead... so...)

A: tell you mom to take you to the doctor.
