Q: Is it possible to inject fat from your face using a syringe needle?
Like, could I go a cosmetic surgen and they could make my face more toned out? I have 'chipmunk cheeks'. I don't want to diet and exercise to get rid of it because the rest of my body is fine...any lypo seems really scary so I was just wondering if they could just 'suck it all out' from just using a syringe needle. Seeing 'before and after' pics would be really helpful!
A: ur question shouldn't be inject fat, that means put in
should say take fat out
but i don't think that would be a good idea
Q: Is it safe to use the same syringe (needle) to inject two dogs living in the same household?
My vet administered the injections using the same needle and syringe on both my dogs. He says there is no risk of infection. Any idea? If there's a risk, any idea what to do now? Please suggest.
One of my dogs was being treated for mange (last shot, infection almost gone) and the other was not. The vet administered the vaccine on the dog being treated for mange and then on the other for some skin infection and rabies. I asked two times if it were ok that you're using the same needle, and he said it's ok. I am really worried. I would never let this happen again, but is there anything I should do right now?
A: General safe practice: Do not reuse a needle. Some practices reuse a syringe.
Q: Is piercing with a syringe needle okay?
I know piercing yourself is not good and all that stuff but I heard it all, and I'm willing to take my chances. Are syringe needles okay to pierce my nose, or what the best kind of needle?
A: Medicut needles are ok for piecing which are the kind of syringe needles used when a tube has to be left in your skin but a normal syringe needle isn't that great for piercing yourself. Piercing needles are the best needles, either blades or introcans for nose piercings as medicut needles are far too big for a standard piercing.
You'll want a needle in size 18ga or 1.0mm for a nose piercing. Introcans are considered easier to work with as a plastic sheath is left holding the hole open while you put the jewellery in and then the plastic sheath is pulled out whereas blade needles are left in the hole and the jewellery is inserted into the back of them and then the needle is pulled out in the same direction as the way you pierced it.
This website sells all three kinds of needles, introcans are on page one and blade needles are on page 2. http://www.pierceitshop.co.uk/piercing-tools/c-32.html
Q: How long does it take to get answers back from lab after being stabbed by a needle (Syringe)?
I was stabbed by a known heroin user last night, been to the hospital and they took the bloods, etc, but I forgot to ask about the time it takes to get the tests back.
I was stabbed by a syringe needle in his hand which went into my belly,.
A: Missree has nailed it on the head.
They are perfectly correct in saying that 3 months is the time period.
BBVs normally have a window period of 3 months. That means that any test carried out prior to the 3 months can give a false reading.
The best thing you can do at the moment is to go back to the hospital/clinic where you were tested and ask to see a counsellor.
You can also call the Hepatitis C Help Line on 0800 451 451; Open from 10am to 10pm days. Also call the Sexual Health Line and speak to an adviser about HIV; 0800 567 123.
The purpose of calling is to hopefully ease your mind as they should have facts and figures regarding needle stick injuries.
If you had managed to get the syringe tested results may have been quicker.
If you have reported this to the police then you should be able to find out about the status of the addict.
Q: why isn't the syringe needle medicinal shot injected directly into the vein but in a random spot in our arm?
everytime i go to the doctor and get shots(vaccines or vitamin B shots for example) in my arm, it hurts a lot.why isn't the needle injected in our vein like an IV, so it's less painless and the medicine is effective quicker?
doctors/nurse:please explain.
A: Injections are usually given into muscle or fat so that the drug will disperse slowly into the blood stream. If it was injected into a vein the undiluted drug would go straight to the heart and is likely to cause major problems.
Q: Where can I buy an 18 gauge syringe needle?
Are they usually at pharmacies?
Where are they available, and how much are they?
A: amstradam
Q: How do you keep a small syringe needle from bending when giving animal a shot?

Q: Has anyone ever had to syringe (needle-less) feed their guinea pig?
My guinea pig is sick and is on Baytril so she isn't eating as much as she should. I've been syringe feeding her all her normal foods pureed. She's so fussy when I do this though! Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do this more efficiently?
A: I had to syringe-feed a young guinea pig special food formula, and am currently giving an elderly guinea pig antibiotics through a syringe.
Fortunately with the baby guinea pig, she absolutely loved the taste of the food and would actually come up try to suck it out of the syringe. The older guinea pig, however, can't stand the taste of the antibiotics.
What I do with her is I pick her up and give her some of her favourite food first, so her attention is elsewhere. Then when she's finished eating that, I hold her head so she can't move away and quickly squeeze the antibiotic fluid into the side of her mouth, so she has no option but to swallow/chew it. I then reward her with more of her favourite food.
However, as your guinea pig is not eating, this technique probably won't work, so I suggest being as quick as possible, don't give her the choice to move away. Make sure you hold her head/chin so she doesn't jerk her head away every time you try to feed her.
I'd also suggest giving her special formula for guinea pigs, it is very nutritious and they actually love the taste. You get the powder, mix it with warm water and put it in the syringe.
You shouldn't have to force her mouth open, instead of trying to get it through her teeth, just push the liquid into the side of her mouth. This is a kinder/less stressful method and there is less chance of the food going down into her airway.
Q: Given the radius of a blood vessel, is it challenging to place the tip of a syringe needle in the vessel?
I would suppose that a very small angle of approach would make the process easier?
A: We all have our own ways of starting IVs and arterial lines. It helps me to think in 3D, and visualize where the tip of the needle is going.
For arterial lines, I find it easiest to start at a 45 degree angle and drop the needle to almost parallel with the skin to thread the catheter after I hit the artery.
Babies and the elderly are the most challenging - small vessels, and (in the elderly) very, very fragile veins. I've had babies in the OR where starting the IV took as long as the surgery.
Q: Is there a way to prevent a disposble syringe needle from bending?
A: The needle will eventually bend from overuse but to make the syringe last longer you need to do the following:
Do not inject through clothes
If you are in jecting yourself do it in your softer tissue (i.e. tummy and not tissue already hardened from many injections - if you are for e.g a diabetic certain injection sites used regulalry causes the skin to become tough and so you must change your injection sites).
Inject at a right angle to the body.
Q: How come that HIV virus could survive in an infected needle or syringe outside the body, since exposure to..?
to the outside enviroment kills it ?
What makes the virus still live in a needle/syringe ,but not live on a wet blood on a broken glass?
People say the virus dies in seconds if it gets in contact with air.
A: Buddy.. it's true that the HIV virus gets killed when exposed to the environment. But in case of needle blood gets stuck in the duct. You can check that by mere verification. Due to this the virus gets attached to the walls of the needle. But in case of a broken glass there is no provision for sheltering them. This is the main reason why HIV spreads through infected needles the most.
But by sterilizing the needle one can avoid the chances of getting infected. Also on long exposure of the needle to environment the chances of the survival for the HIV virus are far less compared to the immediate use of the needle.
Hope this provides you with the answer. Ciao..
