Learn About What Vitamin Supplement Should I Take For My Health.
Q: What is a good vitamin/supplement I can take before I workout for more energy?
We all have "off" days when working out. I exercise regularly about 4-5 times a week. However, the problem I have is finding the energy. I have really good days when I can run for 30 plus minutes and then I have days when I can't run for no more than 10 minutes. I want a vitamin/supplement that will help me with endurance and energy level.
I would like something natural or organic.
A: Try using emergen-C. Its a natural supplement that's has 1000mg's of vitamin C. If that doesn;t work try eating fruit bananas, apples or oranges. If that doesn't work you may need to change up your diet to include more carbs.
Q: What is a good vitamin supplement to take to gain weight?
I'm underweight. I was wondering what type of supplement or vitamin I should take to help me get a bigger appetite in order to gain weight. Thanks!
A: there's this protein drink that sell at bally and all my skinny friends said they really work. maybe you should give it a try. i'll ask for the name of the protein drink later and see if it can help you too. :)
Q: What Kinds of Cat Vitamin Supplement Can I Buy?
I have an 8 week old kitten, and my roommate has a 1 year old cat. My roommate's cat is overweight and we are having a problem with the cat eating the kitten's food. I spoke with my vet yesterday and he said we can put both cats on normal cat food and give my kitten a vitamin supplement that will give her the nutrients she needs as a kitten. Does anyone know the names of some of the supplements I can buy?
For those who might answer giving my kitten scheduled feedings to keep the older cat from eating the kitten food... Four days out of the week I am away from home from 10AM-12AM and so I cannot feed her throughout the day unless the food is out at all times.
A: Agree with putting the kitten in a separate room with its own food when you are not there.
Supplements just aren't as good as one of the complete kitten dry foods. Specially when she is only 8 weeks old.
Please give her dry food on a regular basis as her main food, it is better for her teeth. We see so many cats with bad teeth and gum problems due to them being fed mainly wet foods.
We give the kittens a small amount of wet food day and night but the dry kitten food is always on offer.
My own cats have the dry food on offer all day. The (foster) kittens have theirs on offer all the time as well, but I have a huge cage (is actually a extra large dog crate) for them and when they are out playing in the house, it is closed up so that the adults cant get to the kitten food. Maybe you could get a crate as well and shut her in there when you arent there. Will toys and hanging things she will not get bored.
Q: What is the difference between a nutritional, herbal, and multi-vitamin supplement>?
Are they under different sub category under supplements? I thought they all contain the same ingredient like if vitamin-c is the supplement then would it be considered a vitamin and an herbal supplement since it is a plant and needed nutrient for ur body. Thanks
A: Herbs and supplements are two different things. Your comparing apples and oranges. Herbs are plants that grow in the ground. These plants are taking from the ground, hung upside down and dried. the leaves, stems and roots are used to heal dis-eases. Supplements are used to fill in the gaps in our nutrient intake. Supplements are manufactured from synthetic and natural ingredients. Do some more reading. Your curious. I congratulate you on your query.
Q: Is it fine to eat an vitamin supplement with 10 MG of Iron while you're in taking iron through other food?
I'm 15 years old, male, I'm eating a vitamin/mineral supplement and it already has 10mg of iron, and the food that I eat has iron, but like I heard a teenager should only have 11mg of iron a day. Is it bad?
A: you don't need that much iron unless you are anemic. There are plenty of one a day multivitamins that are iron free.
Q: is there a safe vitamin or supplement i can take to slow down my metabolism?
I'm 18 years old at 5'11 and weight 130.
I eat a lot but I don't gain weight..
Is there a vitamin/supplement that will slow my metobolism down and make me gain weight?
A: Doesn't make a lot of sense your a healthy weight for your age and height,
Q: Is there really any vitamin supplement or pill hat helps you gain muscle and results easier as you workout?
I workout a lot and I was wondering if there is any vitamin supplement or a special pill that will help me gain muscle and results faster for a good price $. I workout enough and don't see results which really bums me out, and makes me feel depressed that I can't get any results. So, if anyone has a secret to their training, or getting results faster and easier, please let me know.
A: yea, do you have a mp3? listen to it while you workout, helps you get you through last rep, and push your self to the max. How long is your workout, how often is yourworkout? Start reading food labels, no junk food AT ALL. and whey protein shakes for longer workouts.
Q: What is a good vitamin supplement to take?
I am trying to lose weight to be healthy.. any idea on a good vitamin supplement.. I have to have folic acids.. and iron.. my iron is low from what the doctor says.. any ideas? Addying energy to me may also be a great help!
Thanks guys!! that helps alot!
A: any of the multi vitamins is good, especially those for pregnancy in your case as they are higher in folic and iron. Then I also take a B complex and one of magnesium, zinc and calcium. Ok, so I am taking more than you expected, but it is all on my doctor's suggestions. Seems to help a lot.
Food choices for weight loss are salads and a little meat. and lots and lots of exercising.
Q: Will my vitamin supplement have the same effect?
I’m taking a vitamin supplement which should be taken twice daily, after meals, one in the morning and one in the evening. I’m so bad at remembering to take the one in the evening especially after meals, so this week I’ve started taking both in the morning after breakfast.
Will they have the same effect if I take them this way or should I try harder and take them morning and evening?
Also, why is it necessary to take them after a meal?
A: It's a bad policy to change how you take a drug or suppliment beyond how it's prescribed.
I can't offer what negatives this situation might have (if any), but you might want to check the label for "side-effects". It may have to do with how well your stomach can digest the suppliment. You may be overloading your digestive system. The directions may be as they are to more evenly distribute the vitamins into your system. Either way, you may be hindering how well the suppliments will work as they are intended.
I would just be more diligent about taking them as directed.
Good luck.
Q: Those who know a thing or two about Vitamins, how mch of a Flinstones complete Vitamin supplement do we absrb?
Those who know a thing or two about Vitamins, how much of a Flinstones complete Vitamin supplement does the body absorb? 30%, 50%, 100%? Does anyone know? I've been taking it for years and wonder if it actually works.
A: This depends on which website you consult. It also depends on your nutrition and hydration habits. And it can depend on what's in the vitamin as well.
The FDA doesn't regulate supplements (otherwise known as vitamins), so because your vitamin bottle says "xx mg of Vitamin" doesn't mean that's what it actually contains. http://www.fda.gov/Food/DietarySupplements/default.htm
Very generally speaking, oral multivitamin absorption is 10%-40%. Liquid vitamin absorption can be considerably more, possibly up to 80%.
The low absorption rate is why you sometimes see things like "1000% of RDA" on some supplements.
I'm not discouraging you from taking vitamins, especially if your physician has recommended them or if you don't consume enough of certain vitamins in your diet. You've obviously done well for years on this supplement.
Q: What type of vitamin supplement represents leafy green veggies?
I want to take vitamin supplements that represent the benefits and nutrients from leafy vegetables (Like spinach, arugula, that sort of thing). I heard B vitamins are the source. I'm currently taking a B vitamin complex, Is that the right vitamin?
A: leafy greens have a lot of vitamins, plus iron and calcium. Why not just eat the greens? They are healthy, and taste good.
Q: Does giving a 12 year old kids multi-vitamin supplement everyday allows him to maximum his height potential?
I'm planning to give my 12 year old brother one pill of multi-vitamin supplement and make him drink around 6 cups of milk 2 morning, 2 lunch, 2 before he goes to bed, everyday so he can maximum his height growth...is this good?
A: That strategy would certainly help. Milk is good protein and good calcium and you need both of these to help your potential height growth.
Besides milk other good foods would be red meat and nuts and also bread and cereals for iron, zinc and magnesium.
A multivitamin supplement is intended to be a supplement to a healthy diet only and can never be a substitute for a healthy diet.
Q: What vitamin supplement can I take that will help clear up my skin?

Some good info on how vitamins can help your skin.
Q: What is the best vitamin supplement or other herb to take to boost your immune system?
During cold season one sees a lot of herbal supplements or other "miracle" pills to help ward off colds and other sicknesses. Vitamin C pills seem to work okay, but does anyone else have a suggestion? Personal experience?
A: Echinacea, also known as purple coneflower, is an herb that strengthens the body's ability to fight infection. It is an immune system stimulant that increases one's ability to eliminate invading bacteria. Echinacea also stimulates the lymphocytes.
Q: Is there a vitamin supplement to help heal bruises?
Aside from a daily vitamin, is there any type of vitamin supplement, or herbal remedy, to help sports bruises heal faster?
There's a variety of answers. Since I don't know which method is better, I'm putting this up for voting. Thanks for the info, readers.
A: I would recommend arnica gel - it is great! I use it after kickboxing when I get a bit bruised up and it works wonders. The brand I use is called SBC. I don't know about vitamins though.
