A: You sound pretty frustrated so I will assume you've tried different types of deodorant and antiperspirants (if you haven't, do that first.) If those don't work you can go to your doctor and they can prescribe you either a stronger antiperspirant or this thing called drysol. You just rub it on your arm pits 2 or 3 times a week and it seriously help reduce the sweating. There are other options such a surgery to remove sweat glands and botox injections but obviously I suggest you try the other options first.

Q: Is excessive sweating a medical problem?
I know that sweating helps remove toxins from the body. But some people do sweat more than others. I know 'excessive' can be a subjective term, but there are people who sweat excessively, right? I am talking about those who are not on any high-potency medication, which can result in excessive sweating. Other than inconvenience, is it a medical problem if a person sweats excessively? And if its a medical problem, is there a remedy? That is, what are the medical tests recommended for such a person?

A: if its underarm sweating, here is some info on things to try to control it... or mask it... actually some of the info can be used for hands and feet as well. Here is some info (its from an answer I gave to a similar question a while back) excessive sweating might be a condition of hyperhidrosis, which is quite common. there is a product called Certain-dry and Dry Sol which I think you apply only at night maybe for only a few days or maybe a week and its supposed to last for a short while before you apply again... not sure exactly if I am right on how it works. http://www.amazon.com/Certain-Dri-Anti-Perspirant-Roll-35-5/dp/B000052X8R there is also a product called Sweat Block that you apply once a week. http://www.sweatblock.com/ you might be able to use these on other areas of the body like if you have excessive sweating on the hands but I am not sure. if your sweating is not controllable by these then there is something called "Drionic" which they have underarm versions or hand/feet versions. You have to do I think 2 half hour sessions and depending on if you do it on low or high you have to do it for 7-8 hours total or double that on low. This is supposed to stop sweating for up to 6 weeks at a time. It stings when you use it but once you are used to it I guess its not that bad by what my uncle told me (he uses it with great success). Your underams will be red when first using it until you get used to it. But once you get through the treatments it will go back normal after some days. My uncle said this is the best thing he has ever tried as it stops his excessive sweating (he even sweat a lot during winter when it was snowing) http://www.drionic.com/ also, if you don't want to go this route and your excessive sweating is on your underarms, there are underarm guards you can place on your clothing that absorb the sweat and prevent those armpit wet circles some people get. there is http://www.sweatex.com/ it says its not see-thru but if you are wearing a t-shirt you can see "something" there... they may not know its the underarm pads... but you can always wear a very thin undershirt with the sweat pad attached then your regular t-shirt or any other top over that. and these: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-0802837-5064019?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=underarm+shield&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go

Q: Does botox for excessive sweating work?
Ever since I was a toddler, I have had excessive sweating from the hands and feet. Until recently, I found out that this is called hyperhydrosis and that botox injections can help cure it. I know they offer it for underarms, but do they also do it for hands and feet and does it really work? Also, are there any possible risks to taking it? THANKS!

A: Botox injections to the hands and feet are the best way to control your hyperhidrosis. It's not a cure, as you will have to have re-injections approximately every six months, but it's been a life saver to those patients who have had the injections. Other than the cost, there is no harmful side effects.

A: More often than not, you're suffering from a common condition called Hyperhidrosis. The condition is characterized by erratic excessive sweating no matter what temperature it is. Try the following to lessen the sweating. - switch to a clinical deodorant like certain dri - drink more water to lower body temperature - stay away from caffeine and spicy foods - powder your "parts" after you get out of the shower with Goldbonds powder - drink green tea at night. It helps with sweating. Additionally, you can find more tips on preventing the sweating here: http://www.prevent-sweating.com/sweat-prevention-tips.html Best of Luck!

Q: Does anyone else have a problem with excessive sweating?
I suffer from a problem called Hyperhidrosis that makes my underarms, feet, and hands sweat profusely. It's very uncomfortable and makes me extremely insecure. The clinical strength deodorants do not help to stop it and I have also tried Botox injections in my underarms that did not work. My excessive sweating mostly occurs when I become anxious, excited, or embarrassed. I'm just wondering if anyone else has a problem similar to this and if so, what they do to try to stop it. Any tips or advice would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks!
