I had a small cyst on my left ovary and it had errupted 2 weeks ago. My doctor told me there was some fluid that was left. I've been experiencing some nausea. I called my doctor and she said that, that happens sometimes. This is the 2nd going on 3rd week and I'm still having a lot of nausea almost everyday.. Any advice????????
A: go back to your doctor?
Q: What is the reason for nausea and vomiting?
My gf is having nausea and vomiting for the last one year or so. Doctors can not find anything wrong. She has about 10 episodes of nausea and about two vomiting per month. Of course she is not pregnant.
Do you have any experience or knowledge about such cases?
A: maybe its the food she's eating. or she has a sensitive throat that can get irritated easily. You vomit easier when you're feeling weak, so she should eat proper foods, and make sure she takes all her supplements. Stay hydrated, and remember to tell her to get some fresh air. that always helps
Q: What is the best treatment for nausea for a cancer patient?
My dad has lung and bone cancer and I wanted to know if anyone out there has any home remedies or anything else of the sort that would help with nausea. He had chemo before but now he is on Tarceva (a pill form of chemo) and he is getting nausea....any ideas or websites would help! Thank You in advance!
A: He should try staying on a regular schedule with anti-nauseous meds when he is on chemotherapy. He can try rotating Zophran, Ativan, and Benedryl or Zytril and Reglan. Those drugs have all helped my son during high dose chemotherapy sessions. He also uses Essense of Peppermint to mask the odor which can trigger nausea.
The National Comprehense Cancer Network provides clinical guidelines for the treatment of nausea during chemo and radiation.

Q: How long will the nausea effect from my birth control last?
I just began taking Yaz, a low-dose estrogen birth control. I hear that it's typical to experience nausea when taking it, and I've had some pretty intense sickness in the past week. Does anyone know how long this will last (perhaps you had a similar experience) or a way to alleviate the symptoms?
A: It usually takes about three months for side effects to go away. It kind of sucks, but usually once those three months pass, you are good to go. Try ginger tea and taking the pill with a meal.
Q: What is that pill called that you can take to avoid nausea from the birth control pill?
I get really bad nausea when I take the pill, but i heard you can take anti-nausea pills before taking the pill. What is it called? or anyone have any tips on nausea and birth control pills...
I think i need to clarify more...i want to know the types of pills used for sea sickness/motion sickness that are effective for nausea from birth control pills, or i want to know if that even works.
A: If birth control causes you nausea, you can actually take it vaginally.
Seriously. I know this sounds weird, but it's totally true.
Also, you could switch to something that's not a pill, like Nuvaring.
Q: How long after taking birth control pills does nausea start?
I took my second birth control pill last night at 10, and I woke up at 4 this morning feeling nauseous and vomited. Is it normal for nausea to start so soon after taking the pill, and also, should the nausea come right after taking the pill at night, or throughout the day?
A: thats going to happen. if it doesn't go away within a week, your supposed to see your doctor, as the instructions indicate.
good luck.
=)
Q: What are some remedies for nausea caused by prescribed drugs?
What are some effective remedies, herbal or synthetic, for nausea that is caused by prescribed drugs? I do not want to get a prescription for anything.
Could you please mention whether or not the drug is sold over-the-counter, and also what the generic of the drug is, since i am located in australia and may not be able to get a particular product.
A: Peppermint tea is a commonly used to cure nausea, as well as dimenhydrinate ( Dramamine, Gravol, Calm X, Dimetabs, Dinate, Dramanate, Hydrate, Triptone Caplets) all of these are antiemetics, and antihistamines.
Antiemetics are used to treat nausea and to reduce vomiting. I hope this helps you in your quest to ease your symptoms.
Q: What causes nausea after a bowel movement?
I have fairly frequent nausea after a bowel movement.
The bowel movements seem normal, but I have awful nausea that lasts for a good few hours.
Anyone know a possible cause? I have told my doctor and being refered to a specialist, but the wait list is so long!!!
A: It could potentially be narrowing of the intestines, or something as simple as a lack of fiber in your diet. The specialist will no doubt find what is causing this, but for now you may wish to try a medical forum online.
Q: How to stop nausea and prevent getting sick?
I've been really stressed out lately and just had cheese curls after eating some chicken pot pie--gross now that I think about it. I feel extremely nauseas and it's really late here. I *need* to be at class tomorrow in order to keep my A in my classes. Does anybody know of any remedies at home to prevent myself from throwing up and cure the nausea/settle my stomach?
Thanks for any help! :)
A: Ginger, ginger ale, saltine crackers, and pepto bismol will stop the nausea. Your body will usually let you know when you have to vomit by making your mouth salivate. When you swallow the saliva, it cues your body to vomit. So spit out the saliva. Or you can just vomit-maybe it'll make you feel better.
Q: How early does nausea set in during pregnancy?
My boyfriend of 6 years and I have been having sex without protection, assuming that whatever is meant to be will be. I have been mildly nauseous on and off every day for about 2 weeks. However, I have taken several pregnancy tests and they all came out negative. I can't attribute the nausea to anything. Is it possible to experience nausea before the result will show "positive" on a pregnancy test? I am horrible at tracking my period so I can't even say when I was due for it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
A: I started throwing up 5 days before my period. At first I thought it was a stomach bug, but I tested anyway a day or 2 later, and I got a positive. And now I'm 12 weeks 4 days, and still sick as crap! My 1st clue that it wasn't a bug was I ate Chinese and it made me sooo sick, and that is my favorite food! Once I went to the doctor to confirm (the day I took the test) my hcg level was only 30, but anything over 25 is pregnant, so I was very early finding out.
Good Luck!
Q: How to deal with the dizziness and nausea that occurs after hemodialysis?
My father has been on Hemodialysis for over 1 month and he is still plagued with sever dizziness and nausea. So much so that he doesn't know if he wants to continue on dialysis. Is there anything that I can do to help with this? Is there anything that can help alliviate these side effects? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
A: Chris you really need to talk to your Dads dialysis team there are many reasons why he might be feeling sick after dialysis but it sounds like he might be getting to much fluids taken off. He can try getting less off for a couple of times.
I have been on dialysis for almost 3 years and I remember that first year as the ruffest ever in my life! Im glad I continued.
You can go to a couple of websites like Davita.com and ihatedialysis.com for lots of information.
Try to learn what his numbers should be each week they will change as he gets to feeling better. But some stay the same ALL THE TIME!
Good Luck.
Q: Is nausea and having the feeling you need to vomit when drunk, psychological or physical?
Is there some kind of automatic defense in your body that wants to get the booze out no matter what? Or is this nausea all in your head?
I read a few things about the placebo effect, about how if you think something is going to work, it actually does work.
What I mean with psychological is: Can nausea due to alcohol be beaten this way? Or is it really just your body that NEEDS to get the liquor out.
A: Too much alcohol can kill you, so when the body wants to get rid of it, it probably means that it really does need to get rid of it. Part of the nausea can be from being light headed too, which can bring on the feeling.
Q: Are there home remedies for making grannys nausea go away?
Ok, no way to be pregnant. There are reasons for the nausea but I need to know if there are any home remedies that will make it go away. Do you know any thing?
A: peppermint. I work in a hospital and we sometimes use peppermint oil on cotton balls to scent the air in people's rooms when they have nausea. You can get essential oil of peppermint at a health store, or try something cheaper from the grocery or drug store. You can also buy peppermint tea, but if she is really pukey- she probably would not want to drink anything.
Q: What is a good way to get rid of pregnancy nausea?
I am 14 weeks pregnant with my second child, and I am having intense nausea to the point of my stomach muscles seizing up and almost complete inability to function. Standing up makes it 100 times worse. Is there anything I can do to help with this? I am trying to keep my stomach from being empty, and I am trying to stay away from anti nausea drugs. Any advice is helpful. Thanks!
A: Is there a particular reason you are staying away from medicine? Your nausea is obviously to the point where you are no longer able to manage it. Have you talked to your doctor? I had awful morning sickness with both my children and now my third. Nothing helped, and I mean nothing. I was hospitalized weekly for dehydration until my doctor finally put me on a drug called Zofran. It is my miracle drug. Works like a charm, and I haven't had any side effects.
